HAYLEY GOLDENBERG (she/her) is a New York City-based, Toronto-raised, and Santa Barbara-born queer feminist musical theatre maker. She is currently developing two musicals: Faye and Plane Girl. Hayley’s musical work has been featured on stages and in concert venues across the United States & Canada including New World Stages, 54 Below, Green Room 42, Laurie Beechman Theatre and others. Most recently, she was a featured lyricist at the 35th Annual NAMT Festival of New Musicals. Other accolades include: 2023 Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project (Selected Participant), Bechdel Project (Semifinalist), Musical Creators’ Institute (Fellow - Inaugural Class), New Bad Ideas Musical Development Program (Finalist), Bravo Academy/New Music Theatre Intensives commissioned songwriter.
As a director, Hayley specializes in new musical development and has been a part of bringing several new musicals to the stage at various stages of development. She’s served on the directing team for Helen (with Bonnie Milligan), Spiral Bound (with Laura Benanti and Eva Noblezada), All We Know of Love & Fire, The Baroque Cycle, Perpetual Sunshine and the Ghost Girls (with Kayla Davion) among others. She is also a proud member of Maestra, DGA, and ASCAP and is the co-founder of the Women & Theatre Project.
